At JK Healthcare, we want to help you with your Diabetes. We provide Diabetes and dietary advice, leading to clear and realistic education. Whether you are interested in a new diet, technology to help with Diabetes or are investigating Weight Loss Surgery, we will design a plan to suit your individual needs.Our interests are varied including Diabetes, Heart Health, Gastrointestinal problems, Liver Disease, Weight Management, Weight Loss Surgery and general nutrition for all ages.Here we have one Diabetes Educator and two Dietitians. Jodie Kennett graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) and later completed studies in Diabetes Education. She is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialled Diabetes Educator. Lucy Johnston has also joined JK Healthcare as an Accredited Practising Dietitian. She graduated in 2014. You can see either of us at the Port Macquarie Private Hospital, at home or at one of our offices in Port Macquarie, Lake Cathie or Wauchope. We also provide services to businesses. We are happy to review Nursing Home menus, childcare centre menus or assist with your staff health program. We are also available to speak at your seminar or provide advice to your group on the topic of nutrition. We work throughout the Hastings area.New For 2018! Insulin pump clinics for people with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes commence regularly throughout the year. These will be the only insulin pump clinics between Coffs Harbour and Newcastle. You can also ask JK Healthcare about technology such as apps to help you carbohydrate count, the most accurate blood glucose meters and Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) to assist with keeping you in range and prevent complications such as hypo’s or running too high.
